A Thank You Is In Order!

Sassys's picture

I am known to be vehemently anti this war, but that does not make me anti american, just anti needless death and destruction.

That being said, I would like to thank the young men and women that are out there on the frontlines fighting this hopeless cause. They are dying in droves over in Iraq as well as Afghanistan, and I do believe they feel they are defending my freedoms. So thank you!

Now when you all get back, hopefully soon, the freedoms you all are dying for may not be here! It's a sad fact that you all may or may not be aware of...Somehow I don't think the big brass has kept you all up to date on the truth of what's going on in your own country as you toil for her freedom to be free. I hope when you all do get back things will be as great as they were when you left, but that's doubtful.

I admire your courage and your faith, I just hope it was not in vain.

Again THANK YOU, and Godspeed to you all.

Point well taken

Well said Sassy. No matter how they got there, and it does matter, those men and women are noble indeed. And I too am afraid that the freedoms that they are dying for are being systematically wiped away by those that put them there.

Hell yeah Numbdeplum

Sassys
It's got to be very heartbreaking to these kids when they do return! And that is a crying shame!

Nice message, Sassys,...

I'm a military kid, so I also applaud all the soldiers who have ever given their lives in service to this country, whether the country always deserved it or not.

Thank You Catfish

I just wish that they didn't come back to "less freedoms" then when they went to fight for us. It's blatantly unfair and it's also unconstitutional!

Numbdeplum is right, it does matter why they were sent.

But the fact that they went, the fact that they give up a portion of their lives (not to mention their health or even their entire lives) to protect and serve their country is a noble thing. They are noble men and women and I am honored to call them countrymen.

Thanks PW I too agree with

Sassys
GnomeDuhPloom (I redubbed him!) the fact is they are noble...and the polar opposite of the very man that sent them there! Bush doesn't even know how to spell tomato...my guess is he can't spell noble either...he would spell it Nohbell. DUH! But it means nothing for him to sit on his ass and send these very young, idealistic men and women to their maiming and even death. I HATE him!

Pussy Willow's picture

I try not to hate anyone, Sassys.

But I'd still like to see him corn-holed.

Oh yeah, once again, I said it. LOL!!!

For me it's not hard to be that passionate PW

Sassys
I could say "I dislike him intensly" but that would be nicer than he deserves. Corn Holing him would turn him on! I say we burn da bitch! LOL.

Now you've done it, PW,...

the FBI is monitoring you, and the CIA is trying to figure out how to take you out!

Ha!Ha!!!! Catfish!!! If only that were true!

As I said a few days ago - "Take me now, lord - I'm ready!"

Can't think of a better way to go out than to give a few other dissidents a martyr.

Ya'll just be sure to spread the word if I suddently disappear. Laughing out loud

Hey PW if you go missing

Sassys
I will call in the Coastguard and anyone else I could get my hands on! FBI my FOOOOT!

Sassys's picture

Hell I AM guilty by association Catfish!

Sassys
We are Sassypuss after all:)

Catfish's picture

Yeah, that would work,...

people disappear all the time online, and it's hard to reach them ever again. I'll just ask Sassys where you went; that is, if they don't take her out for being guilty by association.

I ain't a martyr for no one!

Good people are good people even if...

I agree with you completely Sassys. The good are good, even if they are conned into taking part in something evil, like war. These guys are doing what they think is right and I admire them for it. When I was a teenager my father disagreed with my draft dodging and demonstrating but he had the wisdom to tell me he admired me for doing what I believed in. Since then I have talked with a few guys who went to Vietnam and never made a secret of what I did. It says something about the ordinary soldier when I tell you none of them was angry at the anti-war movement. Some told me they wish they had done the same. Some were still very hurt by their experiences. I hope your young fellows in Iraq and the Australians, British and others don't have the same guilt and trauma as many of the Vietnam Vets had afterwards. They are not to blame and don't deserve that.

If the value of each human being is equal to the value of the one you love why would you ever participate in killing by war or any other activity with deadly intent. Xingtiao also at soulcast, blogfeast and reviewparty.

Xingtiao Is that YOU??

Sassys
Hey buddy! I love the picture! I totally agree with you, and there can be both schools of thought. If my son had been alive during Vietnam I would have driven him myself to Canada! Being against an unjust war does not mean I am against the young men that had to fight it. There unfortunatly is no way that some of the young kids fighting in Iraq wont come out unscathed. And it gets me very angry to know that they will have to deal with so much crap when they do get back.
