A social chain letter

You know those chain letter things we get on our mobiles and in emails. The ones that promise stuff if you send it on to X amount of people. I was thinking that we could create an oral and social version of these chain-letters.

I know what you're thinking. These are busy times, and in busy times we monkeys don't have time to monkey around doing something like this; but only a few seconds out of everyday monkeys day is needed. It's a simple as this.

If you see someone struggling in any way, be it someone in a wheelchair having problems getting around or just somebody having problems opening a shop door, then stop (even if it means going out of your way) and help.

After its happened you'll feel good and they'll feel good; plus something good and productive will have been done. If they say thanks just say something to the effect of "That's ok, if more people did the same the world might be a little bit happier!"

Remember not to tell them that they should do the same, generalize the statement. People hate being told what to do (think of how often you get angry when you get told what to do). If you say do as I do then you detract from the pleasant experience they've just had. If they go away feeling good they might tell they're friends about how nice you were and how they agree with you.

Then the next time they see somebody in the same situation they might stop to help and pass on a similar message. Slowly but surely that simple kindness will be common behaviour amongst us monkeys and everybodies day will run that much smoother and happier. All from just a few seconds out of your day as well. It's not much, but it's a start. Think of it as a social monkey social chain letter with nothing but good karma attached to it! There's no way to lose!

Here's hoping the people around you are making your life happy and your karma great.
