A last minute Mother's Day idea for you

Hello again. I am blogging to share a quick idea for Mother's Day that might save your butt if you're still trying to figure out what to do this Sunday. Yeah, I said THIS SUNDAY!

If you want to beat the crowds and not bother with the madness of going out to brunch on Mother's Day, I have a great idea to share with you. Why not mix two of your mom's favorite things and give her a Mother's Day to remember? Instead of going out, make her a nice Mother's Day meal using flowers as ingredients? Not only will she love the fact that you cooked for her, she'll also love the exotic appeal and beauty of flowers in whatever dishes you make.

As strange as it sounds, flowers have been used as ingredients for many years. Many popular dishes from 17th and 18th century Britain featured nasturtiums, borage and lavender. Even the Romans added lavendar to their honey and also used marigolds in their dishes. And now it seems there may be a revival brewing, and you may be able to participate with just what's growing in your garden. For more information on this, check out this blog entry.

No matter what you end up doing for Mother's Day though, whether you go out for brunch or are too far away to get together, remember to at least send flowers!
