A change of terminology needed?

I've raised the thought elsewhere that the terminology used at the moment about the global climate change that is affecting our world should be renamed as "Global Drought" because I fear that governments and people do not understand the dire ramefications of the climate issues.

I keep reading of drought or water shortages in the UK, Africa, India, and in some parts of the US. I also hear that some people living in very cold climates look forward to global warming.

The fact is that there seems to be many consequences of Global Warming and they will change our world, but one of the major pressing issues is the need for water, and with less rainfall all around I wonder if we will have enough to sustain life as we know it.

I'm not about causing great alarm, but I think we need to cause more action by not only governments but by the people of the world. I also hear that some folk in cold climates will welcome "global warming."

Global Warming sounds too soft - I think Global Drought would highten the concern of the people and we can do something about it.

Until Someone has experienced Dought

they cannot even begin to imagine how awful it is. My Mother went through The Great Depression and lived in the Dust Bowl. those years certainly left an imprint that has lasted for a lifetime.

Nice to hear from you blue lady

here. I think our younger generations are a little naive about some things. The Depression, and War - they've not had those experiences. Life has been good, and I think they find it hard to comprehend.
