After a sub-par superbowl(mainly do to weather), we have 7 more months till the new season is upon us. Peyton Manning finally got the Dan Marino monkey off his back and won a ring for Indianapolis. Personally, this is just my opinion, but had the Bears played their style of defense, instead of playing into Peyton Mannings offense, the outcome might have been different, but I guess defending one of the leagues best quarterbacks can do that to you. Another factor is, they played against a team with a young and sporatic quarterback with very little playoff experience. I don't believe Grossman is a one time hit and had a fluke season, he has the potential to be a franchise QB, just need to get the quirks worked out and get his confidence level up and he will be at the same level as Manning.
The 49ers(harcore 9ers fan, I am) fired their defensive coordinator, good riddance I say, they had the leagues worst defense for most of the year, with exception to a few games(Detroit, Minnesota) they were last in alot of defensive categories and now are trying to rebuild with a new defensive coordinator. Norv Turner is doing an exceptional job and hope he stays on as offensive coordinator. They are $35 million under the cap this year and with that kind of money, they can and will go back to their same type of team they had in the 80's and early to mid 90's. Just a few more additions to thier young team, a few veteran signings to help the younger players develop and expect another superbowl run in a couple years(I hope...lol).
On Terrel Owens, I hope he stays and retires with the Cowboys. They go together like strawberries and cream. He fits in that organization like a glove. It sure is nice to see there is justice in the world.(Hate da 'Boys....lol) He is good, but dropped passes in the clutch, his mouth, his attitude, are what the Cowboys need, and the league needs to keep him in Dallas.
My prediction for next season, 49ers go 10-6 and make the playoffs, Colts get denied a repeat attempt and fail to make the superbowl, so do the Bears, Terrel Owens breaks his leg(wishful thinking rather than a prediction.)
