Coming up on another 4th of July, and you know what that means-blowin stuff up! Or not, these days.
There was a time when even I looked forward to the 4th, mostly when I was younger and when my girls were younger.
Now though, I really dont care one way or the other about the fireworks. Yea, there pretty-ooooo, ahhhhh, and all that jazz. I dont like spending my money on them, I think it is a waste of money, I mean you are literally burning your cash. Makes no sesnse to me, but hey, if thats what thrills ya, go for it, I would rather watch someone elses money go up in flames than my hard earned income.
Problem is , I have a husband who is all about blowing up stuff. Even he has had to calm down with all of it, you know what with the fireworks laws and all. He still manages to find some fun in it all even with all the restrictions they have, and as grown as our girls are, they know their dad is gonna spring for the fireworks for them.
I do hate to hear the bad stories that come from all of this also, like people getting a hand blown off or losing fingers, like my hubby almost did a few years ago. People whose houses catch on fire from the bottle rockets, which are banned here, or anything else that happens to land on a roof. The only good thing here is that we have had so much rain in the last four days, and some pretty bad flooding south of here, mabey nothing will catch fire this year. One can only hope.
