43 Million Tourists A Year. Wow!

If you like people, Orlando, Florida is the place to go. It is one of the fastest growing cities in the United States and visited each year by over 43 million more people. Wow! It makes my small town of Springfield, Oregon seem like a very tiny speck on the planet.

One wonders what it is that draws so many people to the area. Well, no doubt Disney World plays a very large part in Orlando’s rise to fame as a great tourist attraction, but it takes more than just Disney, to keep them coming back year after year. After all, one or two trips to Disneyland and you are pretty much Disneyed out – especially if you don’t have any small children in tow.

No, Orlando has much more to offer. Twenty blog entries wouldn’t be enough to cover them all, so I won’t try, but, if you do decide to visit Orland, think about renting yourself a vacation home for a few weeks and giving yourself a chance to really get to know this beautiful city.

Gondola rides, golf courses, historic areas to visit, tours of their orange grove industry, air boat rides, etc. etc. etc. How could you possibly see it all in a week-end, or even in a week – especially if you make Disney World your first stop?
