35 Year Veteran Police Officer Suspended 15 Minutes Before Retiring

because he wore an old blue uniform shirt instead of the standard issue black shirt

This officer will now be barred from join the police reserve unit, which he'd applied to do after retirement. He'll also lose his retired police commission, all with 15 minutes to go in his career.

We desperately need qualified police officers in New Orleans. Maybe you've seen the national ad campaign for recruitment?

The officer, Sgt. Bobby Guidry, wore the old blue shirt on his last day to honor the police that died in the line of duty during his 35 year career. They all wore that uniform until 2006.
