12 Today

Today is my second oldest daughter's birthday. She is twelve today. I can't really believe that twelve years have passed. She is nearly as tall as I am, and almost as heavy. She is my strangest child, I think. Strange, not in a bad way, necessarily. She gets straight A's, and likes almost every sport. She doesn't like to be hugged or to be the center of attention (which is just like me), and she is willing to do things that my other kids would be too shy to do. She is a bit of mystery, wrapped in an enigma. Sometimes she is soooooo mean and nasty that I cannot stand to be around her, and other times she is kind and gentle. Everything about her is unpredictable. Of course it is, she's twelve! By the way, did I mention she wants to be an astrophysicist? I don't even know what that is!
