There are many avenues to find good bargains. Here are ten of them:
1. Craig's List- A lot of people are advertising through Craig's list because it is free to list an ad except for jobs. Since Craig's list is online and cover all states, you can find bargains near where you live.
2. Thrift Stores-yes, there is a lot of junk at thrift stores but sometimes there are some really great bargains. I have a friend who shops at the thrift stores in her town and then resells the items on ebay.
3. Department Store Sales-there are some really great buys at the end of a season or near a holiday. Often times you can get as much as 75% off of out of season items and while a few things may go out of fashion, there are many items which don't. The problem in clothing may be limited selection, but hey, if you find a few things to fill in your wardrobe then you have come out ahead.
4.Penny Saver Newspaper-these small pubications offer great prices. It's sort of like buying at a garage sale through an ad. The ads are cheap and so people who want to sell things themselves without the hassle of a garage sale often times sell through Penny Saver.
5.Garage Sales-The old adage one person's junk is another person's bargain must have been talking about garage or yard sales. I have found bargains through yard sales because most people just want to get rid of things that are lying around. Some of those things are true bargains!
6.Estate Sales-often times things are priced cheaply because the heirs just want to close an estate.
7. Ebay-there are two ways to win on ebay, first bid in an auction and hope you get the item you are looking for for a really low price. I know people who buy from e-bay all of the time. Or, you can buy at the set price and skip th ebidding. Often times these items are much lower than what you would traditionally pay at the market price.
8. Your Newspaper-peruse your own city newspaper because people are selling good used items all of the time. Just beware and have things checked out before you turn over any money.
9. Pawn Shops-Many pawn shops have bargains but then you also ned to be very savvy about prices. Know what you are looking for and how much it is to buy it new. If the irem is in good condition and is cheaper than the new item then go for it.
10. Damaged Goods Sales-I have a friend who has bought all kinds of things through damaged goods sales. She bought a very valuable painting because the frame was damaged. A new frame and she had a painting worth thousands of $ for a fraction of the price.
