Okay, so the first warning sign, discussed in my previous post, is Money Talk. Let us proceed to the next one:
#2. Love talk.
While no honest Russian woman will declare her undying love for you after exchanging a few e-mails, a scammer will. Sometimes it is done as early as in the second or third letter, other times the girl will be smarter and allow more time to pass. At any rate, the “L” word is what you should be watching out for, as well as “kisses” and other terms of romantic endearment. Does she end her letters with “Love,” “Kisses,” or “Forever Yours”? Does she go on and on telling you how her whole life is transformed because of your correspondence, and how she only lives from one of your letters to the next? If so, you are probably dealing with a scammer.
Don’t get me wrong, good Russian women do fall in love and can write touching romantic letters – but not to someone they’ve never met face to face. A decent Russian woman will wait to meet in person, and then, even if she likes you, she would want you to declare your love first. Like all other women, Russian women like to be won. They think it is the man’s job to court a woman, not the other way around. Then and only then, when you have met and she is sure of her feelings, as well as yours, will a decent Russian woman allow herself to use the “L” word.
